Karbonn Mobiles has officially announced the launch of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean-based Smart Tab 1 tablet PC. Priced at Rs. 6,990, the new Karbonn Smart Tab 1 comes with MIPS-Based JZ4770 SoC from Ingenic as its running core. The tablet is powered by a 1.2GHz processor. Karbonn has also announced rolling out Jelly Bean update for the customers of the Android 4.0.3 ICS-based Smart Tab 1. Booking for the Jelly Bean-based Smart Tab 1 has already begun.

Microsoft's Steven Sinofsky confirmed via a post on Building Windows 8 blog that the final build of Windows 8 has been released to manufacturers. Early adopters of Windows 8 will get build 9200, while Microsoft continues building on feature updates and bug fixes for later release.
MSDN and TechNet subscribers will be the first in line for Windows 8 starting on August 15, followed by Microsoft Software Assurance license getting access the next day. Windows 8 will go on general release, following a launch event on September 4. Ahead of the release, Microsoft has opened The Windows Store to 54 new country markets, and 24 new app certification languages. Reportedly, those who buy a new PC between now and Oct 26 will get a coupon for a $14.95 upgrade to Windows 8.
